Tram line 2 and bus line 21 take you comfortably to the valley station, from where the longest cable car in Germany takes you to Freiburg’s «local mountain» Schauinsland in around 20 minutes. At almost 1,300 meters above sea level, weather permitting, you can enjoy a view of Mont Blanc and the Vosges. Of course, you can also view the city of Freiburg from around 10km away, if the weather conditions permit.

Getting there:
Leave house Münsterplatz to the right, leave house Schusterstrasse to the left. Always go straight on into Konviktstraße / to Münzplatz to the Schlossberggarage and there climb the stairs and the bridge to the Schlossberg.

With an area of 38 hectares, Freiburg Mundenhof is the largest animal inclosure in Baden-Württemberg.

There are many beautiful places around the lake, such as Konstanz, Überlingen and Meersburg.
Beautifully located in the Dreisamtal, Freiburg’s largest outdoor swimming pool is the city’s most popular holiday destination. More than 3,300 square meters of water, a 50-meter lane and many children’s attractions such as several water slides and family pools await visitors.
The Triberg waterfalls are an impressive natural spectacle at any time of the year, with a height of 136m and seven steps. A visit to the Triberg waterfalls is also an extraordinary experience for children.
Impressive 23 m high and 150 m wide – the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen is one of the largest and most water-rich waterfalls in Europe.
From different platforms you get breathtaking views of the enormous water masses.
