Lake Constance

Maritime feeling in the Alpine foothills

Lake Constance is Germany’s largest inland body of water, it covers a total of 536 km2 and lies in the tri-border region of Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
There are many beautiful places around the lake, such as Konstanz, Ãœberlingen and Meersburg.
The island of Mainau is an attraction and a popular excursion destination. You can reach Mainau via a bridge from the south bank or with an excursion boat from the white fleet.

In summer, the best conditions for sailors, surfers and swimmers are very alluring. Cyclists are not neglected either. A 260km long bike path leads around Lake Constance.

Getting there:
By car from Freiburg on the B31 towards Donaueschingen for 70km through the Black Forest to the A81 motorway. Take the onramp in the direction of Singen / Landau / Konstanz and follow this for another 20km to the 40 Hegau interchange. Then follow the B33 towards Konstanz.
Driving time approx. 2 hours.
With the Deutsche Bahn regional train S10 towards Donaueschingen. In Donaueschingen there is a change to the Regional Express to Engen. In Engen change to bus 942 to Bahnhof Süd / MAGGI, Singen (Hohentwiel). From there you continue with the Regional Express in the direction of Constance.
Travel time 3 hours.
